What is ABCT?

ABCT (A Better Crypto Tracker) is a self-hosted, multi-chain cryptocurrency portfolio tracker with native iOS and watchOS companion apps. It runs in a Docker container on your own hardware, giving you a unified view of your assets across 50+ blockchains, 80+ DeFi protocols, and 10+ exchanges.

What blockchains are supported?

ABCT supports 50+ blockchains across multiple ecosystems: major L1s like Cardano, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, TON, Polkadot, and Stellar; Cosmos IBC chains including Osmosis, Celestia, Injective, dYdX, Sei, and Akash; EVM chains including Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, BNB Chain, zkSync Era, Linea, Scroll, Fantom, Cronos, Gnosis, and Moonbeam; plus Sui, Aptos, NEAR, MultiversX, and many more. Is it free and open source?

Yes! ABCT is fully open source under the MIT license. You can view, modify, and self-host the code at no cost. Check the GitHub repository for the full source.

How do I install it?

ABCT runs as a single Docker container. Pull the image, set your environment variables (wallet addresses and optional API keys), and start the container. You'll be up and running in under a minute. See the Quick Start guide on GitHub.

Is my data safe and private?

Absolutely. ABCT runs entirely on your own hardware. There is no cloud component, no telemetry, and no data ever leaves your machine. Your wallet addresses and portfolio data stay local in a SQLite database.

Does it need API keys?

Some chains work without any API keys (like Cardano and Bitcoin). Others work better with free API keys from providers like Etherscan, Helius, or Moralis. Exchange integrations require API keys from the respective exchanges with read-only permissions.

Can I access it remotely?

ABCT runs as a web application, so you can access it from any device on your local network. For remote access, you can set up a reverse proxy with Nginx or Caddy, or use a VPN to your home network. The iOS and watchOS apps also connect to your self-hosted instance for on-the-go access.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes! ABCT has a native iOS app and a watchOS companion. The iOS app gives you portfolio overview, asset details, wallet management, and an NFT gallery. The Apple Watch app provides glanceable portfolio value, top asset prices, and individual coin charts — all connected to your self-hosted ABCT instance.

What other features does it have?

ABCT includes 80+ DeFi protocol tracking across Cardano, Ethereum, and Solana — covering lending, DEXs, liquid staking, and yield protocols. It also has 5 built-in themes, a demo mode so you can explore the interface without any setup, and multi-user support for households sharing a single instance. There's also a full NFT gallery, staking and governance tracking, transaction history with CSV export, and detailed portfolio analytics.
